Ryant Diew

Chairman/Treasurer

Ryant Diew is a committed professional, boasting an impressive 34-year tenure at the Alameda County Probation Department, where his dedication to assisting at-risk youth shines through his relentless pursuit and passion for enacting positive change in their lives. Beyond his probation duties, Ryant also serves as the Vice-President of the Probation Peace Officer’s Association. In this capacity, he adeptly manages collective bargaining agreements, addresses grievances and arbitrations, oversees labor management meetings, and presides over both membership and executive board meetings, demonstrating his extensive skills in leadership and negotiation.

Shawn Hadnot

Vice Chair

Shawn Hadnot is currently an Employee and Labor Relations Officer with the City of Vallejo. He has worked in Public Administration for over 25 years including 9 years as a Group Counselor at Alameda County Juvenile Hall. A champion for educational equity, Shawn bridges the achievement gap in minority communities. He approaches human relations with a calm yet passionate demeanor, fostering development and conflict resolution. Shawn is a passionate community leader dedicated to empowering youth. He utilizes innovative projects and programs to provide academic and social exposure, fostering self-esteem and cultural pride. By leveraging his basketball expertise, Shawn teaches valuable life skills, while his network of professionals acts as a powerful inspiration, demonstrating the limitless possibilities that await young minds with ambition.

Kena Jones

Secretary

A certified Executive Coach with over 20+ years of corporate events, marketing and communications experience, Kena brings a strategic and results-oriented approach to her role as a board member. As the sole parent working full-time to support her two student-athletes, Kena understands firsthand the challenges and rewards of balancing academics and athletics. Kena’s leadership skills extend into the athletic arena, serving as business manager for AAU basketball clubs for the last 5 years. Serving as the bridge between coaches and families, she has streamlined communication and travel policies for multiple teams, implementing standards that have reduced costs for families and liability to the organizations.

Frank Yeargin

Director

Frank has spent 27 years as an Institutional Officer II at the Alameda County Probation Department and nearly two decades coaching basketball, using sports to mentor youth and impart life lessons. A former bar and restaurant owner in Oakland, his hometown, Frank leverages his varied experiences to guide young people towards success. Deeply committed to community and family, he involves his children in educational and sports programs, advocating for youth to attain higher education and overcome challenges. He passionately states, "I aim to inspire our youth to excel in education and life, demonstrating how to triumph over adversity."

Ryan Diew

Director

Ryan is a Principal, EIR, at Base Ventures. A keen trend spotter and problem-solver, Ryan leverages his consumer insights to drive impactful solutions at Base Ventures. Beyond the boardroom, his passion for leadership extends to the court, where he coached the Head-Royce School varsity basketball team to their historic first league championship in 2024. As a strategic investor, Ryan leverages his expertise to identify and assess high-potential investment opportunities. He also plays a vital role in supporting the team's operational strategies.

Tony Wicks

Director

Tony is currently Managing Director of Sovereign Consulting Services. A seasoned healthcare executive with over 20 years of experience, Tony boasts expertise in strategy, commercialization, finance, marketing, and data analysis. He's not only a strategic leader but also a successful entrepreneur. Tony co-founded Premier Source, a consulting and outsourcing firm, and grew it into a thriving business, culminating in its successful acquisition by a major health services corporation. Leveraging his extensive experience in strategic development and planning gained from serving on the boards of educational institutions, Tony plays a key role in shaping the CAAA's growth strategy. His focus lies on expanding academic opportunities for youth participants.

Jackie Davis

Director

Jacquelene Davis brings extensive experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries to her role at CAAA. With over 10 years in sales and account management, she has successfully built relationships with key stakeholders, from C-suite executives to surgeons and pharmacy directors. Her expertise spans wound care, pharmaceutical sales, and operating room management, making her a vital asset in promoting CAAA's mission. Jacquelene holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Chico, and is passionate about youth development and leadership.
